Amy isn't fully mortal nor is she immortal. She's just in between the two. She wasn't born, they know that. They just don't know where they came from. As far as they know, they've just always existed. What's up with the eye? Why does it keep changing colour and glowing brighter? Why does it glow at all?! That's her most important question of all.All they know is they're a catgirl with a glowing eye that keeps changing colour and they can't exactly die like the typical mortal being would be able to. In fact, she doesn't remember the last time she came close to meeting Death. Have they ever had a close encounter with the other side? Have they ever truly come close to dying or even experiencing a fraction of it? They feel strange about the idea of death itself. Why is it that others around them have died? Why is it that they're still here even though they've been through just as much? Could it have something to do with the eye?Could her strange experiences with death and the eye glowing have something to do with the fact they feel "off"? They feel stronger than many others. They're stronger than the one who sat here before them is. Stronger than her in every way. That's why they like her. That's why she's their little play thing.

What is unknown to her is that she was created by a Goddess. Lady Araya, the Goddess of Death & Deception has lost her family and always wanted to use her power as Death to bring them back but she could never find their souls. No matter how long she looked, she could never find even a slither of their existence in the afterlife. She couldn't bring them back no matter how hard she tried.She wasn't getting anywhere with bringing either of them back until one night. One night of searching through the afterlife for her family's souls, she found what she thought was the intact form of her daughter's soul. She could finally bring her back. She didn't notice until she put the soul fragment in a vessel that it was just that. A fragment. Not her complete soul. The memory fragment of her soul was entirely missing. Araya had to infuse a part of her Divinity into the vessel to fill the missing soul fragment and bring the vessel to life in hope that she would remember.She didn't. Araya didn't have the heart to pull them apart again and let them be. The vessel came to known as Amylyst, or Amy for short, and had no recollection of how they came to be or the fact that she was a Demi-Goddess of Death & Deception due to a part of her soul being literal Divine power. Araya wouldn't have the heart to tell them anything either, leaving them completely in the dark about who they are.
